Historic Camden, 222 Broad Street

In March 2018, Camden joined the ranks of South Carolina cities Charleston, Greenville, Clover, and Columbia to host a NASGA-certified Highland Games. NASGA, the North American Scottish Games Athletics, was founded in 1976 and is dedicated to the promotion and understanding of Scottish Heavy Events competition in North America.  For more information on NASGA, visit http://www.nasgaweb.com/main.asp


The 2022 games will be held during the 6th Annual Irish Fest Camden on Saturday, March 5th, beginning at 9:00 am (gates open to the public at 9:30 am) on the grounds of Historic Camden Revolutionary War Park.  This venue is one of the most historical and beautiful on the HG circuit and a great way to kick off the Carolinas Season. 

Registration opens January 1, 2022 for Open and Masters for both Men and Women with a $25 registration fee.  Group size is limited. Participants receive a box lunch and t-shirt.  Events include: Putting the Stone 20#, 56# Weight Throw, 28# Weight Throw, 22# Hammer Throw, Caber Toss, 20# Sheaf Toss, 56# Weight Toss.  *Time permitting: Braemar Stone and Light Hammer.  Prizes awarded for each group.


The Athletic Director for the IFC Highland Games is Rick Norred.  Mr. Norred is a former heavy event athlete and is now a judge and athletic director throughout the southeast.  For questions or to register, email rkbrew@aol.com.  Registration deadline is February 18, 2022.
