In March 2018, Camden joined the ranks of South Carolina cities Aiken, Charleston, Greenville, Clover, and Columbia to host a NASGA-certified Highland Games. NASGA, the North American Scottish Games Athletics, was founded in 1976 and is dedicated to the promotion and understanding of Scottish Heavy Events competition in North America. The 2020 games will be held during the 4th Annual Irish Fest Camden on Saturday, March 7th, beginning at 10:00 am on the grounds of Historic Camden Revolutionary War Park. This venue is one of the most historical and beautiful on the HG circuit and a great way to kick off the Carolinas Season.
Registration opens Sunday, January 26, 2020 for Mens A and B Class as well as Masters; Open Women and Masters Women. Group size is limited. $25 Registration Fee payable at the field on Sat. March 7. Participants will receive box lunch, award, t-shirt. Events include: Putting the Stone 20#, 56# Weight Throw, 28# Weight Throw, 22# Hammer Throw, Caber Toss, 20# Sheaf Toss, 56# Weight Toss. *Time permitting: Braemar Stone and Light Hammer.
