Irish Fest Camden is a family-friendly festival celebrating Irish and Celtic heritage in Camden, SC, held annually the first Saturday of March. The festival, in its 5th year, features live Irish music and dancing, the Children's Leprechaun Parade, the Lucky Leprechaun 5K race, a kids zone, arts & crafts, Irish story-telling, the Medieval/Renaissance encampment, Irish wolfhounds, Gypsy Vanner horses, bagpipes, whiskey tasting, food trucks, Guinness, and of course green beer.
The festival's Saturday main event is held on the spacious grounds of Historic Camden Revolutionary War park at 222 Broad Street, Camden, SC. Visitors will experience an authentic Irish atmosphere as the site's McCaa's Tavern is transformed into an Irish pub for the day serving up Shepherd's Pie and lively pub tunes.
Put on your most festive green attire and don't miss Irish Fest Camden!
The event was conceived by festival founder and director, Rebekah O'Hara. The festival is produced by Irish Fest Camden, LLC as a fundraising mechanism for charitable organizations in the community. The event has grown in just four short years to host over 4000 visitors at its festival held annually on the first Saturday of March.
Proceeds from Irish Fest Camden benefit Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and its capital campaign to restore its historical structure located in downtown Camden. Irish Fest Camden is grateful for the community support it has received through the years. In celebration of the 5th Annual Irish Fest Camden in 2021, we have established the Irish Fest Camden Community Grant and cordially invite Kershaw County organization to be considered for a portion of event proceeds. The grant will be awarded to organizations that devote their efforts to healthcare, children and family welfare, animal welfare, education, community enrichment, and primarily provide support services within Kershaw County. Applications may be submitted by February 28, 2021 to IrishFestGrant@gmail.com.
